About Selections

Started by Mr R.P.G. Curtis in 1970 with a small market stall in Edgware London the company has been expanding ever since and at its peak included 4 branches and a warehouse. After 2 years of the stall, the business moved to Aylesbury trading as a mobile shop using a lorry to sell from. In 1973 the first premises were undertaken in the form of a lock up kiosk in lower friars square Aylesbury called Bob and Pats. In 1982 another premises were opened in westmorland Avenue, Aylesbury under the name of courtesy corner. In 1985 Bob and Pats, lower friars square moved upstairs to a much larger premises adding the trading name of Selections which is still used today. Because of the size of the new store the westmorland avenue branch was closed.

In 1987 the first pet shop in the high St. Leighton Buzzard was acquired. After 5 years of trading the main friars square shopping centre was closed down for a major re build, and so the shop moved to a two storey premises just behind the main shopping centre, in Bourbon Street: Now with the two branches one in Aylesbury and one in Leighton Buzzard the business expanded further several years later with the take over of the adjacent shop to the Leighton Buzzard Pet shop in summer 1998, Selections Hardware: Finally in 1999 the Aylesbury pet shop branch was taken over by Selections.
